In order to have a calm, serene space where you are able to fully unwind and get a restful night’s sleep so you can be recharged for the next day, here are a few tips that will help…

Declutter

It is so easy to pile up clothes and clutter in the bedroom. It’s out of sight from the main areas of the house but when trying to create a peaceful retreat, the clutter has got to go. Keep only the things you love in there so it sparks positive and calming feelings when you step in.

Sleep like you’re on Vacation

With practically every bedroom I design, I try to replicate the luxury hotel feel for my clients. Soft sheets with fluffy blankets in a crisp, clean white is the signature look for 5-star resorts so why can’t you have it every day?

Choose soft colors for your design

Another key element in creating a calming bedroom retreat is to choose a soothing color palette for your space. While you may love bright, saturated colors and they energize you, it may be best to keep those in the main spaces where you want to bring that kind of life and vibrancy. In the bedroom, the goal is to be able to relax and let your mind and body enter a state of relaxation. Light neutrals and soft soothing shades of muted color provide a great backdrop and will have you feeling zen in no time.
